Today we will tackle the fabulous expression les doigts dans le nez. It literally translates “the fingers in the nose.” What an interesting image! The expression means that someone is able to do things easily, without putting forth an effort. It apparently comes from horse-racing, when the jockey would win a race so easily that he could take the time to put his fingers in his nose.
